Spirit Animals

Spirit Animals, also referred to as Power Animals, are energies available to us for shielding, assistance, and guidance. We each have specific animal spirits more suitable for us at specific phases of our lives. Different cultures have different traditions and methods of identifying and retrieving Spirit Animals.

Spirit Animal Retrieval

The process used at Open Heart Energy draws from various traditions and takes about 30 minutes to complete. The client lies a mat and the facilitator (Ronen) lays by their side. Drumming is used to alter the state of the facilitator’s consciousness who, in turn, goes on a Shamanic Journey into the Lower World.

When the journey is complete, the facilitator performs a retrieval, and finally, “inserts” the Spirit Animal onto the client by way of breath.

Next, the facilitator explains how to form a relationship with the Spirit Animal, how to honor it, invoke it, and what to do when the time comes to part ways.

The three main types of Spirit Animals

• Messengers: These are animals that we suddenly encounter at higher frequency, like butterflies, snakes, or hummingbirds. They are likely not your Spirit Animals, but messengers appearing in your life to deliver important information.

• Spirit Animals: As explained above, these can be retrieved for you through a Shamanic journey, to provide guidance, protection, and assistance.

• Totem: This is a Spirit Animal that will stay with you for the rest of your life.
